NA10

NA10 general protection relay

Thytronic's NA10 relay is used on radial-type networks to protect power lines and transformers and can be used as general protection forusers connected to the MV distribution network in accordance with CEI 0-16, in applications where maximum current and ground fault protection functions are provided. In systems with a grounded neutral, it provides reliable protection against ground faults on lines of any length. In systems with an isolated neutral, where the connection to ground is made through Petersen coil or resistor, ground-fault protection, on the other hand, is employed only on lines of limited length. This approach avoids untimely tripping due to the contribution of the line's capacitive current to external faults.

Features of the NA10 general protection relay

Standard protection and control functions of the Thytronic NA10 relay include maximum phase current and residual current monitoring, ensuring complete protection against overloads and faults. The breaker failureand phase overcurrent funtions  contribute to system safety and control. In addition, the relay offers trip circuit supervision and meets the requirements of the Italian standard CEI 0-16, ensuring operation in accordance with safety standards.

Optionally, the integration of protection function 26 for machine temperature measurement using Pt100 thermometer probes is available. Regarding communication functions, the relay is equipped with a USB type B port, facilitating communication with ThyVisor configuration software for easy configuration and effective system monitoring.

XMR-A

XMR-A is part of the XMORE platform, the comprehensive range of IEDs for medium voltage applications that includes protection for feeders, motors, generators, transformers, and capacitor banks. The Thytronic XMR-A IED complies with CEI-016 standards. Thanks to its hardware and software modularity, XMR-A is flexible and scalable in terms of applications and performance.

Features of the XMR-A Protection Relay

The XMR-A relay is used in power distribution grids with any state of the neutral (insulated, earthed with high or low resistance, earthed with Petersen coil (compensated neutral) and any resistance, directly connected to earth) for the following typical applications:

► protecting radial lines, transformers

► as a CEI 0-16 certified General Protection System (SPG) for active or passive users connected to the public distribution network, with possible directional earth protection 67N (with optional HW package).

The following measurement circuits are present:

► Versions with inputs from CT

► Three phase currents with rated current independently selectable at 1A or 5 A via software

► One residual current input with rated current selectable at 1A or 5 A via software.

Optionally:

► One additional residual current input with rated current selectable at 1A or 5 A via software.

Or

► A residual voltage input, with rated voltage programmable in the range 50...130V (UEn = 100V)

To integrate the protection functions, there are the functions of failure to open the circuit-breaker (BF), CT monitoring (74CT), VT monitoring (74VT), trip circuit monitoring (74TCS), synchronism control and programmable logic (PLC).

The methods of calibration, programming and reading of the measurements and recordings can be implemented through Personal Computer with Software support ( ThyVisor) or via bus RS485 or Ethernet communication; all the above operations are possible using the keyboard frontal view (MMI).

NA11

The NA11 protection relay can be used for the protection of lines and power transformers in radial networks.

In systems with solidly grounded neutrals, it offers protection against earth faults on lines of any length. In systems with isolated neutrals or those connected through a Petersen coil and/or resistance, the NA11 relay provides protection for lines of limited length, preventing untimely operations due to the capacitive current contribution of the line for external faults.
The following measurement circuits are present:

► Three-phase currents and one residual current input, with independently rated current (versions with traditional CT inputs);
► Three-phase currents, with rated current (versions with low-power CT inputs - LPCT);
► Two or five (optional) digital inputs;
► One blocking circuit (accelerated logic).

NA11 Protection Relay Features

The Thytronic NA11 protection relay offers a comprehensive set of features to ensure reliable protection and advanced system control. In addition to protection functions, it includes breaker failure (BF), CT monitoring (74CT), trip circuit supervision (74TCS), automatic reclosing (79), and programmable logic (PLC). Furthermore, it provides precise monitoring of breaker failure and maximum residual and phase current for optimal safety.

Optionally, the protection function 26 is available for machine temperature measurement using Pt100 thermometric probes. Regarding communication capabilities, the relay is equipped with a type B USB port, facilitating communication with ThyVisor software for easy configuration and effective system monitoring.
