NV021 Interface Protection Relay

The Thytronic NV021 protection relay, compliant with the Italian standard CEI 0-21 is typically used in LV distribution systems, on transformers, or for electric machines. It can be used for system decoupling, load shedding, and loss of main protection.

Features of the NV021 Interface Protection Relay

The Thytronic NV021 interface protection relay offers a range of advanced features to ensure reliable and precise protection in electrical systems. It monitors both under-  and over voltage, along with residual overvoltage and negative sequence voltage, ensuring accurate measurement of frequencies, both minimum and maximum, and the frequency derivative. The relay is designed to detect breaker gailure  and to accurately supervise the trip circuit for reliable operation.

The NV021 relay also provides a protection function 26 for measuring machine temperature via Pt100 thermometric probes. For communication purposes, the NV021 is equipped with a type B USB port for connection with the ThyVisor configuration software, simplifying the management and configuration of the relay.

NV10P

The Thytronic NV10P protection relay, compliant with CEI-016 standards, can be typically used in HV, MV, and LV distribution systems, on transformers or for electric machines. It can be used for system decoupling, load shedding, and loss of main protection.

Features of the NV10P Interface Protection Relay

The Thytronic NV10P interface protection relay has various functions to ensure reliable and precise protection in electrical systems. It fulfills functions of monitoring over- and undervoltage, measures residual overvoltage, negative sequence overvoltage, and frequency, both minimum and maximum, including frequency rate of change. This relay ensures the detection of circuit breaker failure and accurate supervision of the trip circuit, providing protection in compliance with CEI 0-16 standards. For communication functions, it is equipped with a type B USB port to facilitate connection and configuration via the ThyVisor software.

In combination with the NV10P relay, as an alternative to
traditional voltage
transformers and insulators with capacitor divider, , V-Sensor can be installed in Medium Voltage Electric Panels for phase voltage measurement. These devices include the functions of:
  • Electronic Voltage Transformer
  • Capacitive divider for voltage presence lamps
  • Insulator.
The sensor is offered in a single model suitable for installations with nominal voltage 10...24 kV and does not require the installation of  anti-ferroresonance resistors.
Furthermore, for the remote control of the relay, it is possible to install the M-GSM4 modem with mobile GSM technology up to and including 4G, GPRS, and LTE, which allows for the command of opening and closing of the interface devices installed on generation plants with a total nominal power ≥ 100 kW.

Moreover, in plants where automatic reclosing (ARF) is active, by connecting the M-GSM4 Thytronic modem to the NV10P protection relay via ThyBus, the interventions for modification on the plant are minimized.

XMR-V

The Thytronic XMR-V protection relay, compliant with the Italian CEI-016 regulations, is part of the XMORE platform, the complete range of IEDs for medium voltage applications. XMR-V is ideal for protection against power supply failure from the distribution network and Loss of Main voltage.. Thanks to the modularity of the hardware and software, the XMR-V is flexible and scalable in terms of applications and performance.

Features of the XMR-V Interface Protection Relay

The Thytronic XMR-V interface protection relay offers a range of high-precision features, with recording capabilities in Oscillography of up to 32 samples per cycle during faults and 64 samples per cycle, enhancing the accuracy of protection elements. It is widely implemented in Smart Grids and substation automation systems, supporting communication standards such as IEC61850 Ed.1/Ed.2, IEC 870-5-103, Modbus (Serial/TCP), and DNP3 (Serial/TCP).

Communication security is ensured through redundancy protocols such as HSR and PRP, along with advanced integrated cybersecurity to protect networks. The solution also provides enhanced time synchronization for SOE logging, supporting precision protocols such as PTP according to IEC1588 and SNTP. XMR-V performs synchronization control, monitors voltage, frequency and frequency rate of change , detectsbreaker failure, offers remote tripping functionality, multiple regulation profiles, and vectorjump. Optionally, hardware and software packages are available for custom configurations and additional functionalities.
