XMR-V Interface Protection Relay


The Thytronic XMR-V protection relay, compliant with the Italian CEI-016 regulations, is part of the XMORE platform, the complete range of IEDs for medium voltage applications. XMR-V is ideal for protection against power supply failure from the distribution network and Loss of Main voltage.. Thanks to the modularity of the hardware and software, the XMR-V is flexible and scalable in terms of applications and performance.

Features of the XMR-V Interface Protection Relay


The Thytronic XMR-V interface protection relay offers a range of high-precision features, with recording capabilities in Oscillography of up to 32 samples per cycle during faults and 64 samples per cycle, enhancing the accuracy of protection elements. It is widely implemented in Smart Grids and substation automation systems, supporting communication standards such as IEC61850 Ed.1/Ed.2, IEC 870-5-103, Modbus (Serial/TCP), and DNP3 (Serial/TCP).

Communication security is ensured through redundancy protocols such as HSR and PRP, along with advanced integrated cybersecurity to protect networks. The solution also provides enhanced time synchronization for SOE logging, supporting precision protocols such as PTP according to IEC1588 and SNTP. XMR-V performs synchronization control, monitors voltage, frequency and frequency rate of change , detectsbreaker failure, offers remote tripping functionality, multiple regulation profiles, and vectorjump. Optionally, hardware and software packages are available for custom configurations and additional functionalities.
