XA60 general protection relay
The XA60 protection relay can be used on radial and/or meshed MV and LV networks, providing reliable protection for power lines and transformers. It offers protection on radial, ring, or parallel lines of any length in systems with isolated, solidly grounded, Petersen coil, and/or resistance grounded neutrals.
It also provides effective earth fault protection for generators connected directly in parallel to the same busbar. Undervoltage and overvoltage functions are integrated as voltage protection or control, ensuring optimal system operation. The relay can be supplied with phase current input circuits suitable for both conventional CT and VT systems or integrated ThySensor devices. Both versions are certified for use as general protection of users connected to the MV distribution network in accordance with Italian standard CEI 0-16, in applications where directional and non-directional overcurrent and directional earth fault protection functions are required.
Features of the XA60 general protection relay
The Thytronic XA60 protection relay has several functions designed to ensure the safety of power lines and transformers. These standard protection and control functions include thermal protection for lines and transformers, undervoltage monitoring, phase overcurrent, residual overcurrent, overvoltage, residual overvoltage, directional phase overcurrent, and directional earth fault overcurrent. The relay is also capable of handling breaker failure, as well as CT, VT, and trip circuit supervision.
In addition, the XA60 relay provides metering, oscillography, event and fault logging, as well as control functions. Communication is available through USB, Modbus RS485, Modbus TCP/IP, IEC 60870-5-103, DNP3, and IEC 61850 Ed. 2, making the device suitable for advanced protection and supervision applications.
