XMR-D

XMR-D Protection Relay for Generators

The XMR-D is part of the XMORE platform, a comprehensive range of IEDs for medium voltage applications that includes power supplies, motors, generators, transformers, and capacitor banks. The Thytronic IED XMR-D is a complete multifunctional relay for the protection of motors and generators, including the differential element. Thanks to its hardware and software modularity, the XMR-D is flexible and scalable in terms of applications and performance.

Features of the XMR-D Protection Relay for Generators

Equipped with a wide range of standard features, the XMR-D relay for generator protection provides complete protection through the supervision and control of crucial parameters such as maximum phase current, frequency, residual voltage, and many other variables essential for the proper functioning of the generator. This relay also integrates an advanced communication security system, utilizing redundancy protocols and built-in cybersecurity to ensure high reliability and data protection. Moreover, with an advanced time synchronization solution, it allows accurate recording of event sequences (SOE).

Network connectivity includes various implementations of protocols widely used in Smart Grids and substations, making it compatible with multiple environments and automation systems. The protection and control functionalities are extremely detailed and include various measures, such as maximum directional active power, trip circuit supervision, and many others, providing complete and customized protection for the generator. Additional hardware and software configuration options offer further levels of control and customization, including thermal functions through Pt100 thermal probes, the Arc Flash function, and other optional elements to enhance the safety and efficiency of the system.
