SME71-O (RGDAT OUTDOOR)

Medium Voltage Secondary Protection System SME71-O (RGDAT OUTDOOR)

The SME71-O fault detection system is designed in compliance with the ENEL GSTP001 specification and is installed in outdoor applications to provide local and remote signaling of short circuits and earth faults that may occur in medium voltage distribution networks. The SME71-O quickly locates the line section affected by faults, thereby reducing power outages.

Features of the Medium Voltage Secondary Protection Device SME71-O (RGDAT OUTDOOR)

The SME71-O can operate with:

► Insulated neutral
► Grounded neutral through an inductor with a parallel resistor
► Grounded neutral through a resistor
► Directly grounded neutral

The SME71-O device detects faults between phases and earth faults in both isolated and compensated neutral networks without needing to change settings between different configurations and independently of the power feed direction. Accurate fault direction detection occurs even with intermittent faults. The SME71-O device monitors the voltage of the three phases of the medium voltage line and signals whether it is ON or OFF. A current converter with a 4...20 mA output is also available to send the phase current measurement to the remote control terminal.

SME2-IS (RGDM-I)

Fault detection device for indoor use with functions of maximum current, earth directional, maximum active power directional , reclosing, presence/absence of voltage, and synchronized control. Compliant with ENEL GETP011 standards and cybersecurity.

Features of the Secondary Protection System MT SME2-IS (RGDM-I)

The SME2-IS fault detectors are designed in compliance with ENEL GETP011 specification (Protection and control device for MV substation – RGDM control unit). They are installed in remotely controlled secondary substations to detect phase-to-phase and ground faults in both isolated and compensated neutral networks without needing configuration changes when switching network setups and independently of the power feed direction. Specifically, they enable:

► Detection of multi-phase and single-phase ground faults
► Detection of line undervoltage
► Measurement of voltage and active/reactive power on the MV line
► Control of DY800 opening and closing during faults or remotely from UP
► Interface with generators present on the MV network to coordinate voltage regulation along the line and remote disconnection signals
► Coil current measurement

The input circuits are suitable for measurement acquisition via integrated phase current/voltage sensors. The device can, through software selection, acquire current measurement signals from active sensors (signal proportional to the current value transduced by the sensor) or passive sensors (DJ 5400 and GSTC005 - signal proportional to the current derivative value over time). The device allows current and voltage measurements through Low Power sensors compliant with IEC 61869-10 and IEC 61869-11.

The homopolar values are calculated vectorially from the measured phase currents and voltages. Voltage measurement inputs are available with capacitive voltage dividers.
Additionally, two Ethernet communication ports are available, one with IEC61850 protocol.

To ensure full compatibility with RTUs already present in secondary installations, the SME2-IS device is equipped with a dual interface, capable of communicating with both the UP (DX1215) and future communication devices.
Calibration, programming, and reading of measurements and recordings can be done through a Personal Computer or via Ethernet communication port with software (ThyVisor) available for free. All the above operations are also possible using the front keyboard (MMI).

DMC900A3S0

Thytronic Protection and Control Panels can be mounted both on the MV section supports and on the HV user line of Primary Substations. These devices are applicable not only in medium voltage nodes but also in primary substations with a grounded neutral or with a very low-value neutral resistor in foreign countries where ENEL is present.

Features of the DMC900A3S0 Automatic Control Panel

In addition to protection functions, the DMC900A3S0 automatic control panel provides monitoring and control funcionts such as CT Supervision(74CT),  VT supervision (74VT), trip circuit supervision (74TCS), Syncrocheck function, frequency protection EAC (Automatic Load Balancer), programmable logic (PLC), and automatic reclosing (79).
Calibration, programming, and reading of measurements and recordings can be managed via a PC with ThyVisor support software or through an Ethernet communication bus. All these operations can also be performed through the front keyboard (MMI). Additionally, up to 2 external RIO DMRIS0 modules can be integrated. The system complies with ENEL DMI 900016 and GSTP101 standards, as well as cybersecurity standards. Moreover, an upgrade kit is available for ENEL panels,  to comply  with the latest Enel specifications.
