The first year of operation of THYEAST

KEMA IEC 61850 Certificate Level A for further Pro-N

Following the high demand from the international market concerning to the numerical relays with the IEC61850 protocol Thytronic is glad to add these models from Pro-N series.

KEMA has issued the Certificate Level A. This conformace test, for the herewith listed models, assures the full interoperability within the modern Protection&Control systems using such a protocol.

Asia-Pacific Protection & Testing Conference

The Impact of Smart Grid and IEC 61850 on Protection, Testing and Control is the topic discussed in a conference the next September at Kuala Lumpur. Its aim is to gather the player’s experiences coming from all over the world, sharing opinion and knowledge. Thytronic has received the invitation to illustrate a correlated case study concerning a meaningful application where its intelligent protection relays are involved.
The complex topology of a modern power grid with distributed energy sources requires enhanced solution to avoid the islanding condition or supporting the transmission grid in case of emergencies. Nowadays, thank to the IEC61850 standard and the implementation of new sophisticated protection schemes, Thytronic led to a solution that could not be achieved in the past: a IEC61850-based Loss of Main protection.
